Special Lecture by Robert I. Hellyer, a Professor from Wake Forest University in the US
We invited Professor Masai Imai to give a special lecture at Professor Miyazaki’s course during the spring semester of this academic year. Professor Imai is a professor in the Department of Economics at Wesleyan University, the US.
It was a great pleasure to invite Professor Imai to give a lecture on June 17. He conducted a lecture based on an academic paper that addresses the relationship between the Covid-19 benefit payments and political economic factors. He taught us about the institutional backgrounds as well as important related studies, which would be quite useful for students majoring in public economics, social security policy, and political economics.
During the lecture, students eagerly asked questions. We would be delighted to hear about his on-going research on the political economic analysis on the Covid-19 related subsidies in the context of Japan’s local politics in the near future.
