Kobe University has a long history spanning over 120 years. Its roots can be traced back to the Kobe Higher Commercial School that was established in 1902. It became known as Kobe University in 1949 when seven institutions were combined into one university with 6 faculties.
Nowadays, Kobe University has 10 faculties and 15 graduate schools covering a diverse range of academic fields.
